LGHS Swimming and Diving- Week 4 Update 2/23
Hello Swimming and Diving Families-
We hope you have had a restful week and are ready to start our dual meet season strong! We understand that the email contains a lot of information, so please read it carefully and ask a coach if you have questions!
All Team Meeting- 2/23- 3:45 pm
We will have an all team meeting tomorrow at 3:45 pm on the pool bleachers. It is expected that EVERYONE will be at the meeting to hear about important information regarding pasta feeds and our first away meet on Friday.
Focus Practices
There has been fantastic progress made by those who have attended focus practices so far this season. Great job by those of you who attended. You're all on your way towards great swim seasons. Unfortunately, we have had a number of people sign up for practices and then not attend. If you sign up, please do your best to make the practice, or remove your name from the sign-up list before noon the day of the practice.

Pasta Feed- 2/26
Our first pasta feed of the season will be on Thursday! Thank you to Coach Sullivan for hosting the JV event and the Borentstein Family for hosting the Varsity event. The varsity event is still in need of food. Each family is expected to contribute to pasta feeds, help at the event or have purchased the Pasta Feed Buy-out on the ASB website. Information about the pasta feed locations can be found on the Meets and Events page of the Swimtopia website. If you are having difficulty logging in to the site, please contact [email protected]
Swim Meet @ Lynbrook- 2/27
We have our first dual meet of the season on Friday. All swimmers that can not participate in the meet on Friday, February 27th MUST FILL OUT A MISSED PRACTICE FORM AND NOTIFY COACH BRUNO or COACH PETERS, no later than Tuesday, 2/24. If you notify us later than Tuesday that you can not participate then one of your teammates may not get to swim an event or relay that you have been seeded into. BE COURTEOUS TO YOUR TEAM AND COACHES. If you back out of the meet after Wednesday, 2/25 you will be asked to provide verification of your illness from a doctor.
It is unlikely that team suits will arrive this week. Please wear a plain suit with no other team name (including water polo) for the meet. Athletes will be dismissed from class at 2:05 pm for a 2:15 pm departure time. Please make sure you have gathered all of your belongings needed for the meet during lunch so that you may go directly to the bus (parked near the main gym) after leaving your 6th period class. A bus will return to LGHS at the conclusion of the meet. Parents are encouraged to attend the meet and students do not need to ride the bus home, just inform the coaches that you are leaving with a parent.
Swim Meet v. Lynbrook @ LGHS- 3/6
Our first home meet will take place on Friday, March 6th. We are still in need of a clean-up crew at the end of the meet. This is a great job for working parents who may not be able to get to the meet in time for other jobs. We also need a few timers and someone to help run the desk. If you are having trouble logging in to the Swimtopia site please contact [email protected].
