    Week 7 Update- 315

    Hello Swimming and Diving Families-

A huge "thank you" to all the volunteers who made Friday's home meet against Los Altos possible! The meet had the officials busy with an alarming number of disqualifications: 13 from Los Gatos and 17 from Los Altos! In one of the JV Boys relays, all but one relay team was disqualified, placing our Los Gatos "C" relay in first place! Our end result was team wins for Los Gatos JV Boys and JV Girls, with Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls trailing Los Altos. Lots of points were scored by a strong diving team as well!  We will be working hard on relay starts and touch turns in preparation for next week's meet at Mountain View! Below are meet highlights, fundraiser updates, and information on this week's focus practices.

We appreciate your time and attention to keep this season running smoothly.  Feel free to speak to a coach if you have questions!

We will have another away meet this Friday. Dismissal time is 2:05 for a 2:15 pm departure time. There will be a return bus for swimmers who do not have parents attending the meet to take them home. Remember that the bus will depart 20 minutes after the conclusion of the Varsity Boys 400 Free Relay.

All swimmers that can not participate in the meet MUST FILL OUT THE MISSED PRACTICE FORM FOR Friday, AND NOTIFY Coach Bruno (Varsity) or Coach Peters (JV) by Tuesday, March 17th at the end of practice.

Orange-Black-Grey Fundraising Swim Meet: Saturday, March 28th

Please mark your calendar for the OBG meet on Saturday, March 28th. This is NOT an optional meet for athletes. This is our only fundraiser with proceeds supporting the banquet, pasta feeds, etc. The fundraising goal for each athlete is $300 and so far we have raised over $6000 – but we are nowhere near our goal of $25,000 which includes funds for new lane lines for our team’s exclusive use. Our fundraising partner Vertical Raise provides a safe and secure platform that has been approved by the school district because they do not share or sell data. All athletes have created accounts and shared with at least one parent who can in turn share with additional friends and family. Please share widely or consider corporate sponsorship to help us reach our goal.

    Parents: Pasta Feeds and Donuts!

Thank you to all who helped make the pasta feeds and swim meet happen! Truly a team effort! Here’s what’s next:

    • Pasta Feeds: Thanks to the families that hosted and contributed to last week’s pasta feed. There are no pasta feeds this week. Sign-ups for future pasta feeds can be found on the Meets & Events page.
    • Donuts: Swimmers are delighted if they get donuts after Saturday practice, commenting that donuts are “inspiration to attend Saturday practice!” Please sign up if you’d like to contribute to the happiness of a dedicated swimmer! Reminder: JV swimmers are encouraged (but not required) to attend Saturday practice as well.

    Go Cats!
